Aldo’s
Discipline: Branding
Sector: Hospitality/Cocktail Bar
Aldo’s is a cocktail bar located in “Le Sirenuse”
Inspired By The Architecture
It was important to analyse the architecture and interior design of the location before starting the branding process. “Le Sirenuse” is full of details and colours that pop everywhere. You can see decorative mosaics and a big presence of organic shapes mirroring the movement of the sea around the terrace. Another important aspect is the use of geometric elements in tiles on the floor. A pattern of colours is also clear across all the images: blue, green, red and yellow.
Logotype
The idea for the logotype was creating something that felt fresh, modern and playful. A very unique lockup that could be easily recognised by anyone. The solution was introducing ligatures to balance the type, making it feel symmetrical and dynamic. The main font was slightly modified to get to the final result. It was also important to have a space to place “cocktail bar” “drinks” “food” ... in case the lockup wanted to be used for other menus with a different content. The secondary typeface is a serif font with minimal edges that complements the rest of the lockup. This font will also be used for the headlines in the menu.
Styling
The colour palette was inspired by earthy tones, mixing neutrals with some darker shades. The font chosen for the headlines was “Lora” a clean typeface full of personality that could differentiate “Genevieve & Co.” from competitors.
Social media assets were created following the brand guidelines: clean imagery, use of colour palette and correct typefaces to highlight the content add some personality to the brand.
Social Media
Various versions of the logo were created to fit any space, all of them keeping the iconic ampersand and styling of the main lock up to be easily recognisable as part of the brand.
